Tanaka's Take: New Broncos RB owning up to mistakes
DENVER - It's Cut Week in the NFL. By Saturday, the Broncos will have its final 53-man roster.

One guy who should make this team is one guy who won't even play in the first four games of the regular season.

LenDale White is facing a four game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

In many cases, a guy like this wouldn't even get a call from an NFL club until week-five, but White, benefiting from the Broncos injury situation at running back.

Besides the fact that LenDale is a Mack truck who gives the Broncos backfield a dimension they don't currently have -- one reason to keep him is because he's a guy who's in the midst of turning the corner.

In this day and age, it's so rare for an athlete to admit a mistake on the field -- let alone off it -- that when he does, your ears perk up.

When I spoke with LenDale one-on-one after the Steelers game, HE was the one who brought up his problems...while I held a mic in his face, while the camera was rolling.

He owned up to his errors, he admitted the wrongdoing, and is now fighting for his life to get one more shot at the NFL after some immature behavior almost cost him his career.

LenDale is no longer the high school kid or college student we've watched in the past---he's a grown man, who can be a benefit to this team on the field, in the locker room, and in the community.

THAT is a dimension every team should have.
