Ernie Bjorkman / Anchor


Ernie Bjorkman anchors the multi-award winning News2 at Nine. Ernie is one of the true broadcast veterans in the Denver television market, with 24 years on the anchor desk.

Ernie has won 2 Emmy awards as well as Associated Press and Sigma Delta Chi journalism awards. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism.

He began his career at WPEC-TV in West Palm Beach, FL as a reporter from 1972-1976. In 1976, Ernie moved to Atlanta to work for WSB-TV as a reporter, where he covered many key events, such as Jimmy Carter's rise to the White House and the Atlanta Child Murders.

Ernie's Denver career began in 1982 as a field anchor for KMGH-TV. After two years, he joined News2 as the main anchor and managing editor. He returned to KMGH four years later where he worked as an anchor until 1998, before rejoining the News2 team as the primary anchor.

Ernie and his wife Susan have been married for 28 years. They have two children, Ashley and Hunter. Ernie's hobbies include golf, fly fishing, and hunting.
