FRASER, Colo. - Remember sledding down your neighborhood hill as a kid? We used to take out these old beat out plastic sleds or trash bags and make the most out of Colorado snow days... I wish this was an option way back then!
If you're up in Fraser this winter, check out the newest sled hill. Built just two years ago, a couple guys had this great idea to offer something different to tourists up in the Winter Park area who are looking for something fun to do, besides skiing or boarding. They built Colorado Adventure Park, with 400 feet of snow track and all different kinds of runs. The best partÂ… you don't have to hike all the way to the top like we used to as kids! There's a magic carpet that's running constantly and it'll get you up in just a few minutes.
My photographer and I took a trip up Berthoud Pass a few weeks back on a beautiful snow day. We found Colorado Adventure Park to be extremely family friendly and safe. People ages 2 to 70 can grab a comfy, hard bottom tube and fly down the hillÂ…
Or, if you're feeling more adventurous, you can grab the new airboards that can get up to 40 miles an hour, depending on the conditions! Just like skis, you can carve and turn (and tumble) down the mountain!
I strapped on a helmet and took my chances for the high speed runs. I went airborne over a little jump and had a blast... Now THIS is what how sledding is supposed to be!
The park is open until April 18th, so head up the mountain for a day of fun!
