Jurors resume deliberations Thursday in Bronco murder trial
DENVER - The man on trial for the murder of Denver Broncos player Darrent Williams was brought into the courtroom Thursday morning. FOX 31's Julie Hayden reports a verdict had not been reached, and it was not known why Willie Clark was brought to the courtroom. He was then sent back to his jail cell.

Jurors returned to the courthouse in Denver Thursday to resume their deliberations in the case against Clark, who is accused of killing Denver Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.

Jurors got the case against Willie Clark late Tuesday and began deliberating Wednesday morning.

Clark is charged with first-degree murder in the New Year's Day 2007 shooting.

In closing arguments Tuesday, prosecutors said Clark went into a murderous rage after a confrontation at a nightclub, and that he later told friends he fired the fatal shots.

Defense attorneys say Clark wasn't in a vehicle that pulled up besides Williams' rented limousine when someone inside fired the shots.

They say Clark is being made a scapegoat.

FOX 31's Julie Hayden is covering the murder trial, and she's updating developments from the courthouse in her blog.

3 p.m. Update - jurors still deliberating.

They are using the courtroom itself today because it has the TV screens and audio players in case they want to listen or view any of the exhibits.

They have sent out two questions, which the judge replied to. But as of now, the judge is not releasing any information on the questions or answers.

2 p.m. Jurors still deliberating. Just talked to another alternate juror who was excused yesterday who said he would have voted "not guilty" too. He did not find the prosecution witnesses credible and says it looks like Daniel Harris was the shooter, not Willie Clark.

He said he didn't see how Clark could have fired from the drivers' seat, across a passenger and out the window. He says Harris is the one who fled and to him, that said "guilty."

He says he was also troubled by the fact the police failed to investigate the calls to crime stoppers from a woman in Mexico who said Harris was there and was saying he was the shooter.

He says he feels sorry for the Williams' family that police didn't follow up leads like that. He says it seemed to him that the prosecution witnesses were the bigger drug dealers and that Clark was just a small player and was "set up" by those higher up in the drug ring.

He says he thinks even if Clark were in the car, if prosecutors were going to charge one person they should have charged everyone and not let some get off completely.

He says he did not feel any threats or intimidation during the trial and said the prosecution tried to make it seem like Clark was some kind of big gang lord and he doesn't think that is the case at all.

12:30 p.m. Jurors are eating lunch in the jury room. They started deliberating in the case this morning at 8:30. The Judge yesterday told jurors they could deliberate into the evening if they chose, but typically jurors end their day around 5pm. So far, no questions from the jurors and no indication of how things are going or how they are leaning.
