Freight train collides with semi in Denver
Kalamath Street was closed through part of Denver Monday morning after a Burlington Northern freight train struck a tractor trailer.

The collision happened at 50 S. Kalamath St. around 6 a.m., officials said. The train clipped the back of the trailer, which was on the side of the track, blocking all southbound lanes.

A power pole was knocked down, but Xcel Energy said there were no power outages in the area.

The cause of the accident was under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Kalamath was closed just south of 1st Ave.
