CU students create Pac-Man game with robotic vacuums
BOULDER, Colo. - Give CU students a little time, a little technology, and a little 1980s inspiration and you never know what you'll get.

A team of developers at the University of Colorado have hacked five floor-cleaning Roomba robots to create a mechanized version of the popular 80s video game, Pac-Man.

Just like the game, the Pac-Man robot moves around the board, gobbling up little dots while trying to avoid the robot "ghosts," Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde. It's all controlled by a joystick attached to a laptop.

But the project isn't just for laughs.

It's designed to be a demonstration of an unmanned aerial guidance system with countless real-world, aerospace and military applications.
