DENVER - The "Knitting is Sexy" 2010 calendar debuts in Denver this week.
It happens during a special launch party at Strings on Thursday, November 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. Strings is at 1700 Humboldt Street in Denver.
Tammy Cunningham, wife of Strings owner Noel Cunningham came up with a way to make knitting sexy. Local women posed in barely there hand-knit items for the Knitting is Sexy 2010 Calendar.
They did it to raise money for the Cunningham Foundation. The foundation's goal is to help connect the developed world with the developing world by introducing self-sufficient programs.
Tammy Cunningham said she learned to knit during a recent trip to Ethiopia. The money raised from the Knitting is Sexy calendar will be used to teach women and children in Ethiopia how to knit so they can support themselves by making pieces to sell.
