Helicopter crashes near Breckenridge
Two people were being treated for injuries after a helicopter crashed near Quandary Peak in Summit County Thursday, officials said.

The crashed happened approximately 2 ½. miles west of Blue Lakes Dam in the Hoosier Pass area, at an elevation of 13,000 feet.

Summit County officials say the helicopter, a Bell 206, crashed around 11:30 a.m. while delivering supplies to a mine in the area. After communications were lost, a second helicopter was dispatched and located the crash scene.

One of the injured was airlifted to St. Anthony Central hospital in Denver. The second was to be transported by ground to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries was unknown.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
