Police searching for JeffCo suburban rapist

Police need help tracking down a rapist that attacked a woman in her sleep in a south Jefferson County neighborhood.

The early morning sexual assault happened Friday morning, June 26, and police are warning everyone in the area between Simms and C-470 and Bowles to Belleview to be on the lookout for anything suspicious..

Police think the rapist used the green belt between homes to sneak up to victim houses - a technique used by break-in artists in the same neighborhood several weeks ago. The man, beleived to be in his 20's, broke in and began attacking the victim while she was sleeping.

The suspect is described as:

• a white male
• in his 20s
• about 5-9
• weighing around 170
