GOLDEN, Colo.—
Traffic backups extended for several miles along eastbound Interstate 70 during parts of the day Saturday as traffic was detoured for FasTracks Light Rail construction between the C-470 and Colfax Avenue exits.The interstate will reopen at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, October 26.
The C-470 ramp to eastbound I-70 will also be closed through Monday.
Truckers over 30,000 pounds are being rerouted off of I-70 at Exit 254 (Genesee) then to U.S. 40 east. Average motorists will be rerouted off of I-70 at Exit 261 (6th Avenue) then to I-25 north back to I-70.
Through RTD's voter-approved FasTracks project, 122 miles of commuter rail will be added to metropolitan Denver, including a route to Denver International Airport.
