They are accused of murder, sexual assault, robbery, and parole violations. They have one thing in common: they have been named to Colorado's 2010 Top 50 Most Wanted list.
Fifteen law enforcement agencies from around the state are working together to get these men and women located and arrested.
Lt. Tony Lopez, from the Denver Police Department said, "we have no investigative tips at this time for any of the 50 people we are presenting today."
Law enforcement officials said last year's round up was a huge success. 70% of the people on the 2009 Most Wanted list were apprehended. In addition, tips led to the arrests of dozens of criminals that weren't even on the list. They credit the media and the public with helping put these dangerous criminals behind bars.
Lt. Lopez said, "in some cases, they've assumed other identities. They've gone underground and in spite of our best investigative efforts, we just haven't been able to locate them. Now we need the eyes and the ears of the community to come forward and help us locate these individuals and bring them to justice. These are not tax paying citizens out there maintaining 9 to 5 jobs.
These are hardened criminals that are committing additional crimes so they can stay on the lamb.. they can continue to run from law enforcement. The sooner we get them located and apprehended, the safer our communities will be."
Anyone with information about where police can find these alleged criminals is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867). You can remain anonymous and you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
The phone lines are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
