FOX31 KDVR / KWGN "The Deuce" is looking for an outstanding, experienced Broadcast Engineer with excellent transmitter knowledge and management skills for our state-of-the-art high definition broadcast facility.
Broadcast Engineering Manager
Technical Requirements;
The successful applicant will have an in-depth, working knowledge of digital and analog broadcast technologies as used in a broadcast facility, operation and maintenance of high power UHF/VHF Transmitters, digital microwave RF systems, broadcast equipment technology and maintenance, as well as a working knowledge of applicable computer and network technologies. We are looking for someone with strong communication and people skills who can establish and maintain high quality repair and maintenance standards while monitoring and maintaining employee satisfaction and morale.
Responsibilities include all key functions involved with transmitter and RF engineering and maintenance, FCC compliance issues, managing and training a strong engineering staff, oversight of day to day engineering support and equipment maintenance. Individual will act as project manager for larger installations and assign resources for projects insuring proper design, expansion and documentation of broadcast systems.
Physical Requirements;
- Must be able to lift and carry up to a maximum of 70 pounds. - Work at height using ladders, step-stools or other necessary equipment. - Frequently bend, squat, crawl, and reach above shoulder level. - Operate company vehicles
Qualifications;
- Minimum of 5 years experience with transmitter operations at a major market television station is required. - Minimum of 2 years experience managing technical staff. - Technical Degree in electronics or related field. - Expert knowledge of FCC regulations and ATSC/8VSB transmission standards is required. - FCC General Class license/GROL is preferred. - SBE CBTE certification or equivalent is a plus.
